Letters from Arthur Bliss, as follows: (1) 27 November, 1941 (on BBC paper): "When we can programme your song cycle, we shall be delighted to engage Myra Verney for the performance. (2) 22 November [1947], listened to "Sinfonia da Camera" with "great interest" and looks forward to studying the score. (3) 27 June [c1948]: "Of course I will support the recording of the Quartet. If I am not mistaken, it was I who first proposed that it should be added to the list at the British Council." (4) 15 November, 1961, replying positively to Rainier's suggestion that the New English Consort should take part in the London Festival. (5) 12 June, 1965: "I think it monstrous that the Income Tax Collectors should step in on this Civil Pension...." (6) 30 October, 1971, will not be attending a performance of Requiem ("I do not now go out of an evening very much"). (7) 15 November, 1971, having now heard a tape-recording of the performance of Requiem ("what a beautiful conception it seems to me to be"). (8) 25 April, [1975], a personal note from Trudy Bliss (on paper announcing a Service of Thanksgiving for Arthur Bliss, at Westminster Abbey, 20 May, [1975]).
