Richd. How II (Bristol) to Richd. How I (Aspley) ... as to the object of Briggy's inclinations, whatsoever you both like will certainly have my approbation. Thos W[alduck's?] misfortunes are in my opinion no bar ... A more compleat education were to be wisht, & perhaps greater experience; otherwise I think extremely well of her, believe she is virtuous, goodnatur'd etc., but perhaps she may want proper spirit, & from a sense of her advancement be through gratitude more submissive than may be their mutual interest, tho' in general the contrary is most to be apprehended ...
