File 451/1913 Pt 1-2 'Koweit and Bahrein: Oil Deposits. Water Supply.'

This volume comprises two parts that contain correspondence pertaining to two distinct topics. Part one discusses the possibility of discovering oil deposits in Koweit [Kuwait] and Bahrein [Bahrain], with some reference also made to the potential for deposits to be found in Syria and the Farsan Isles [Farasan Islands]. Part two concerns the provision of a permanent water supply in Koweit [Kuwait]. Both parts consist primarily of correspondence between British officials, principally at the India Office, the Foreign Office and the Government of India. The volume comprises part 1 and 2. Each part includes a divider which gives the subject and part numbers, year the subject file was opened, subject heading, and list of correspondence references contained in that part by year. This is placed at the back of the correspondence.

The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the rear to the front of the volume. The subject 451 (Koweit and Bahrein) consists of one volume, IOR/L/PS/10/339. The volume is divided into 2 parts, with parts 1 and 2 comprising one volume.
