Letters addressed to stewards and other agents of Frances Seymour, Countess and Marchioness of Hertford, Duchess of Somerset, on business connected with her estates, household, etc.; 1628-1674. With a few later letters to 1686.
Between 1642 and 1669 most of the letters are addressed to Thomas Gape; and between 1668 and 1672 to Timothy Whitfield. From 1668 to 1674 a large number are from Robert Semple, Bailiff of the Duchess at Walton on Thames.
The names of the writers are included in the index.
