Two texts written in two separate hands and at different dates. Staining at ff. 23v-24r suggests that they were originally separate. They were together in one volume in Sion College Library by 1724 (see Custodial History field). ff. 1-3. flyleaves, blank except for Sion College shelfmarks, including 'Forulus C20' at f. 1v. Text 1. ff. 4r-23r. [original pagination 1-40, 43; a leaf with pp. 41-2 apparently missing]. In English. Early 17th century. 'A Discovery of the Hidden Secret Longitude serving for most of the Habitable parts of the World'. Begins: 'My intention is not to dispute concerning the diurnall motions of the heavens or whether the earth move from West to East and the heavens have onely their owne proper motion as sume suppose but in the bringing to the view of the world this secret ...'. With tables of the anomaly of the sun and numerous mathematical calculations. f. 23v. is blank. Text 2. ff. 24r-76r. [original pagination 1-55]. In Latin. Late 17th century. 'Introductio ad historiam meteorologicam ubi natura, species, modus et proprietates omnium et singulorum meteorum describuntur et enucleantur'. In eight chapters. A catchword in chapter 8, 'De terrae motu' at f. 51v suggests that the text ends incomplete. ff. 52r-63v. 'Ex altera parte, Regulae'. Text ends incomplete at the end of Regula 14. ff. 64r-76r. 'Prodigia, apparitiones, miracula etc ab anno salutis 1500 ad ann. 16.. excerpta e Gottofredi Schultzii Lipsiensis Chronicis Germanicis. 1685'. f. 64v. is blank. f. 77. A blank flyleaf.
