William Cock of St. Ervan, lab., indicted for stealing 40 gallons of barley, property of Richard Williams, also for stealing a bag, property of Jonathan Ball: transported for seven years on each charge totalling fourteen years.

Peter Wills of Lezant, lab. indicted for stealing a brass pan, property of Samuel Dawe: four months' hard labour in Bodmin gaol.

Also indicted for stealing three aprons, a neckerchief, a nightcap and a duster, property of Anthony Pollard: acquitted.

William Lavender of Newlyn, lab. indicted for stealing a pair of shoes, property of John Trethewey: three months' hard labour in Bodmin gaol.

Richard Hore, jun. of Stokelimsland, lab. indicted for stealing a piece of oak, property of Sir William Pratt Call, bart.: one month's hard labour in Bodmin gaol.

James Julian of Veryan, lab. indicted for assaulting Elizabeth Pollard, (a child between 10 and 12) intending carnal knowledge, also for common assault on her: two years' hard labour in Bodmin gaol.

Henry Penhall of St. Stephen in Brannel indicted for assaulting Eliza Snell and "scandalously exposing his person in a certain public and common highway within sight and view of divers liege subjects of our Lord the King." Found guilty of assault only: one week in Bodmin gaol.

Appeal by Nicholas Paul against distress warrant dated 15 Nov. last for failure to repair a road in Gulval: distress warrant quashed.

Michael Dyer and Richard Michell, both of Lostwithiel, labs. indicted for obtaining money by false pretences from Philippa James: acquitted.

William Luke, Philip Williams, Richard Roberts and George Goad, all of Illogan, labs. indicted for conspiring to cheat William Reynolds and others of their money: all imprisoned for six months and fined £5 each. To further remain in prison until fines paid.
