The Guild was founded in 1887. The number of branches has varied - for example in 1900 there were nine; in 1993 five (Chester, Crewe, Mid-Cheshire, East Cheshire and Wirral). Each branch produces its own minutes and other records. [For further details, see the Diocesan Yearbook.]
