Letter book (Charles Tennant & Co of St Rollox, (Glasgow)).

Chiefly comprises letters relating to customer complaints, letters to suppliers of raw materials, and letters to the company's agents. Also includes (inverted at back) copy resolution of a meeting of the Trustees of the Linen Manufacturers at the Linen Hall, Dublin, held 1 Apr 1800, regarding a premium to be paid upon linen bleached by James Knox's oxygenated muriate of lime process, with an estimate of the revenue likely to accrue therefrom over the period 1800-1803, and table showing the quantities of linens, cottons, threads etc bleached in Scotland 6 Jul 1797 - 5 Jul 1800 (taken from bleacher's certificates recorded in the Excise and Debenture books), made 1801.
