Description

Deed to Lead Uses of a Fine

1. Thomas Evans of Ludlow, druggist.

2. Evan Evans of town of Clun, grocer.

3. Thomas Heighway of town of Clun, tanner.

Of fine levied Trinity term, 50 George III.

Upon

(a) Dwellinghouse in Town of Clun, with Gardens, Close, parcel of meadow (2a.), formerly called the Crown, afterwards the Brown Lion, formerly in possession of Richard Bowen, long since deceased, afterwards of Thomas Lello deceased grandfather of (1), and now of Thomas Evans, John Brown, Wm. R. Wilton, Richard Nicholls and Charles Dyke;

(b) Burgage or Dwellinghouse (for many years divided into 2 Dwellinghouses), lying between a street in Clun called Newport Street and the Fish Pool in Clun, with Close or Meadow Plock Garden and Hempbutt adjoining (1a) in Newport Street, formerly in possessions of John Hawkins, Ann Rainsford and John Longvill, afterwards of William Cornes, Sarah Lonvill widow and Thomas Law, now of Robert Jones, Robert Williams and Humphrey Oldbury;

(c) 2 pieces of pasture, formerly arable, near to Clun, in p. Clun, called Great Marden and Little Marden; and piece of pasture formerly arable, lying between the two Mardens; and small piece of meadow or pasture called the Pool Meadow formerly inclosed out of the Great Marden (10a. in total); formerly in possession of Thomas Law, afterwards of Thomas Lello, deceased, and now of Richard Nicholls;

(d) Parcel of meadow near to Clun, towards Bickton, in p. Clun, called Gallows Tree Meadow, otherwise Longfords Meadow (5a.) formerly in possession of Thomas Law, afterwards of Thomas Lello, now of Richard Nicholls; [(a), (b), (c) and (d) were purchased by Thomas Lello, deceased, from Edward Acton, Esq.].

(e) Site of a house near an Elm tree in the Town of Clun, and Burgage or Backside thereto belonging, called Clements Close, formerly in possession of Erasmus Watkins, afterwards of William Smith and John Clarke, and now of Charles Dyke, purchased by Thomas Lello deceased from Edward Collins and Richard Collins;

(f) Pasture on SW side of the Turnpike road leading from Town of Clun to Bishop's Castle, called the Stoney Shovells (8a.), having lands late of Mr. Dacks on NW and a brook which runs from Bickton to Clun Mill on W; and parcel of meadow or pasture called Penargee (4a.), on NW of the Stoney Shovells, between brook (W) and lands late of Mr. Dacks (SE); all in t. and p. Clun, formerly in possession of Thomas Lello deceased, who purchased them from William Gill, Esq., and Mary his wife and Benjamin Giles, Esq., and Jemima his wife, and now in possession of Richard Nicholls;

(g) Parcel of arable called the Blackwells in p. Clun (3a.), bounded by highway from Colstey to Clun on SW, land late of Edward Acton, Esq., on SE, lands formerly of Thomas Wall and now of Earl of Powis, on N and W, formerly in possession of Thomas Lello, now of William Rickards;

(h) Parcel of inclosed ground called Bicktons Leasow or the Harp Piece [formerly 3, now one] (4a.), adjoining the Common way from Clun to Edcliffe (E) and common way from Clun to Bickton (S); in t. and p. Clun, formerly in possession of Thomas Hawkins, afterwards of Thomas Lello decd., and now of William Rickards.
