Description (What the record is about)

The benefices of Tarring Neville and South Heighton were united on 23 July 1664 (see WSRO EpI/1/1/7 fo 84r). South Heighton church was destroyed by lighning in 1769 and from 1775 baptisms and marriages took place at Tarring Neville church.
An order in council for the union of the united benefice of South Heighton with Tarring Neville with that of Denton was made in 1928 and took effect in November 1930. There was therefore one Parochial Church Council for Denton with South Heighton and Tarring Neville from 1931.
