Correspondence regarding Benjamin Brooke & Company Limited. The letters are between the secretaries of the relevant companies, J P Timperlake, Mr Oswald Clement, and Mr McLean - secretary's of Benjamin Brooke & Company Limited, and L V Fildes and Mr Hulton - secretarys of Lever Brothers Limited. As such this does not appear to be one of Lord Leverhulme's correspondence files. The majority of the letters are dealing with share transfers and certificates, notices to meetings, and resolutions. Contains a signed agreement between Benjamin Brooke & Company Limited and R.S Hudson Limited for Appointing as Selling and Distributing agent, dated 25 June 1934. [LBC/152/111]
Benjamin Brooke & Co Ltd, the first company to be acquired by Lever Brothers Ltd, was bought in 1899 with Sydney Gross as head of the company. The scouring soap Monkey Brand was acquired from this company.
