Field books cleared out of St. Mary's Chambers in November 1987 prior to the move to Fradley.
Of the volumes which were saved, a sample of approximately 10% has been kept, covering the earliest (1905) and latest (1956) years, and census years in between, apart from 1941, for which none survived. Ten volumes for 1942 have therefore been preserved instead.
The properties valued, for probate, insurance, transfer, stocktaking etc., include farms, hotels and inns and private houses in both Staffordshire and Warwickshire.
