Description (What the record is about)
-
Letter (2 sheets) from Euphemia Attenborough Coxhill to T C Hipwell only got statement today although dated 12 February - blown under a mat did not know about sale of Phipps shares Cottages (annual income £16pa) - valued at £278 would be quite free if £159.8s were paid off Uncle George sent cheque for £100 and Uncle Tom £20 towards it don't mention money matters to Walter Attenborough 'he is a funny man and just now is proving a kind friend' sent Joan £10 so should have some money when she reached Portugal she put £5 in London & Brazilian Bank and took £5 with her has asked for Ba's address so may do same "Walter Attenborough is a very curious mixture and if he takes it in his head to stand by anyone there's no knowing how much he might do" have land and houses in place of the shares feels if old Richard Attenborough had allowed Dick to take the offer he had on South America when 21 things might have been very different
Note Walter Attenborough 1850-1932 was MP for Bedford as a Conservative January-November 1910 [for details of his career see Who Was Who 1929-1940]
