Description

Declaration of Thomas Smith of Shrewsbury, staymaker, that he was nephew by marriage of the late Mary Groves, wife of Samuel Groves, formerly of Heightley, farmer, decd. and he knew them well. Mary Groves before her marriage was Mary Williams and was the widow of Edward Williams formerly of heightley, decd., which Edward Williams was the brother of Thomas Smith's mother, and therefore his uncle; there was issue of the marriage 2 children, Mary who died an infant, buried at Chirbury c. 19 Dec. 1809 and Thomas who died c. 24 yrs, buried at Chirbury 29 Feb. 1836.
