Description

Annual returns giving names, professions and residence of members of the Lodge at the Unicorn, Hillgate, Stockport and general correspondence relating to the running of the lodge. Years 1793, 1794, 1801 and 1804 are not extant.

Administrative / biographical background

The unnamed lodge was established in 1791 and met at the Unicorn, Hillgate, Stockport, Cheshire. In 1804 the lodge moved to the Queen's Head, Underbank, Stockport but in 1805 returned to the Unicorn. The lodge's last entry is in August 1805 and the lodge lapsed about 1806. The lodge was never officially named but within its correspondence it often refers to itself as the Royal Arch Lodge of Jerusalem.
