From (a) Rev. Edward James Rhoades of Elmley Castle Vicarage, Pershore co. Worcs., and Henry Tull Rhoades of Rugby co. Warks. esq., surviving executors of William Cobden Rhoades as above, dec'd to (b) Martha Elizabeth Lemmon of Chichester, wife of John Lemmon of Cosham co. Hants., nurseryman
"Elm House" in Tower Street Chichester, with the garden and buildings belonging, in occ. the said Martha Lemmon and used by her as a lodging house
Recites that on 18 March 1885 Thomas Greene of Chichester gent. as agent for (a) above agreed to lease the above property to (b), subject to the approval of the High Court of Justice (Chancery Division) to be obtained in the cause Bush versus Rhoades, and on condition that additions and repairs as specified by Frederick Mant Vick were carried out; and that approval has been obtained and the repairs effected
Bush versus Rhoades was an action by the beneficiaries of William Cobden Rhoades dec'd against the dead man's executors concerning their administration of the estate. In 1886 it was ordered that the dead man's real estate be sold and the purchase price paid into court and distributed amongst the litigants
