This archive comprises deeds for property of the Masters and Horne families, mainly relating to Sevington and Mersham, 1464-1804, and correspondence, accounts, estate and business papers of the Friend and Mackeson families, 1791-c1934.
The first part of the collection, the title deeds of the Horne family (mainly sixteenth and seventeenth century in date), were acquired from the Masters family, with a few deeds for property of the Friend family. The series of deeds are incomplete and appear to be only a portion of larger units
The second part of the collection consists of a few accounts, estate and business papers of the Friend and Mackeson families plus a good series of nineteenth century correspondence, mainly to Henry Mackeson from his mother, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces
