The documents in this collection were deposited in small bundles, and this bundle system has been kept intact. The bundles of deeds have been arranged in sections as follows -
(a) Herefordshire - Aston Ingham, Bickerton, Bosbury, Colwall, Eastnor, Ledbury, Lugwardine, Mathon, Putley, Stoke Edith, Wellington, Weston Beggard, Woolhope and conveyances etc. of tithes for several parishes.
(b) Gloucestershire - Berkley, Bromsberrow, Dymock and Kempley
(c) Worcestershire - Hanley Castle, Leigh, Pendock and Welland
(d) Salop - Newport
(e) Wales - Mines in Merioneth, Cardigan and Montgomery
(f) Nottinghamshire - Mansfield
(g) Middlesex
(h) The West Indies - Isle of Nevis in Windward Isles and
(i) Miscellaneous Settlements with no means of establishing any identity of place.
The maps and plans have been arranged in the same manner as the deeds, but have been separated from them because they have no apparent connection with them. They cover roughly the same areas as the deeds with the addition of a plan, 1773, of land after the "earthquake" at Buildwas, Salop: and also an estate map for Chigwell, Essex.
There is a section of items unrelated to the other material, including some papers of the Ledbury Agricultural Society.
Listed in a further section are
(a) Records of Ledbury Council Schools (Minute and Letter Books)
(b) Order Book of the Ledbury Turnpike Trust and
(c) Ledbury Churchwardens' Account Book, 19th Century
The last item is received on temporary deposit pending arrangements in connection with the Parish Records Survey.
