Description (What the record is about)
-
The leases, as might be expected, cover broadly the same properties as the title deeds and the reader is referred to the title deeds headnote above, for a brief description of the entire estate. More detailed information on individual properties will be found in the relevant title deeds sub-class headnotes. The sequential arrangement of the leases follows that of the title deeds as closely as possible, though there are some gaps in both series - Watergate Farm and Hovingford alias Blackwater have title deeds but no leases while Sibdown and Champion are represented by leases but have no deeds.
-
Arrangement (Information about the filing sequence or logical order of the record)
-
The leases fall into twenty-four sub-classes as listed below. The material is grouped in bundles varying in size from a single item to twenty-five items. Within their bundles the leases, even for composite properties such as Thorley manor, are arranged as simple, chronological series.
