Description

Various pprs., apparently set aside by WHS as being particularly important. Incl. : MS. memo. "Iron & Steel Corporation. A few thoughts to date" which concerns ISC/BISF relations and other matters, 1950 Nov 11 (MSS.289/2-5); MS. note "limits on investment for the public sector of the Iron & Steel Industry...", 1952 Jan (MSS.289/6); MS. memo. "The development of the Iron & Steel Industry... from Corp. to Board".

Concerns role of government, location of the industry, investment, pricing and policy and development of the industry following de-nationalisation, 1953 Mar 24 (MSS.289/7-24); carbon copy of ltr. to Capt. Leighton Davies re alleged "unwarranted intervention" in Steel Co. of Wales, 1953 Feb 25 (MSS.289/15); various corres. (mainly farewell ltrs.) with officials, Corporation members and others, 1953 Jun-Aug (MSS.289/16-27).
