Description

Release: (a) Wellesbourn Sill of North Luffenham, co. Rutland, and Dorothy his wife; (b) William Peake of Seaton, co. Rutland, clerk, and Thomas Peale of Edithweston, in the same county, clerk; (c) Edward Lane of Hanslop, co. Buckingham, esq., and James Manners of Pisbrooke, co. Rutland, clerk; (d) Samuel Barker of Linden, co. Rutland, esq., and Elizabeth Barker, spinster, sister of the said Samuel: said Wellesbourn Sill and Dorothy his wife, release unto the said Edward Lane and James Manners all those premises which were subject to an indenture of lease made by the said parties on the day before the date of these presents [no.390]: to hold the same for the following uses:- (1) all messuages and lands in NORTH LUFFENHAM to the use of the said Dorothy, wife of Wellsbourn Sill for the term of her life (ii) after her death all messuages and lands in NORTH LUFFENHAM, except the cottage in the tenure of John Cole and the cottage late in the tenure of Joseph Cooper and now in the tenure of Robert Scotney and Widow Woods for the use of Wellesbourn Sill for the term of his life (iii) after their death and the survivor of them all messuages and lands, except as before excepted and except the land called Fincett Land, to the use of Wellesbourn Sill, his executors, etc., for the term of 1000 years as security for the repayment of £500 by Samuel Barker; after the determination of the said term to the use of Elizabeth Barker, her executors, etc., for the term of 1500 years as security for the repayment of £200 by Samuel Barker; after the determination of the said term to the use of Samuel Barker and his heirs for ever (iv) the cottage in the tenure of Robert Scotney and Widow Woods to the use of Wellesbourn Sill and his heirs for ever (v) the cottage in the tenure of John Coles, after the death of the said Dorothy to the use of Elizabeth Mason, spinster and servant of said Dorothy for the term of her life and after her death to the use of Samuel Barker and his heirs for ever (vi) Fincett Land: after death of Wellesbourn Sill and Dorothy his wife, and the survivor of them the said William Peake and Thomas Peale and their heirs to receive the annual sum of £5 from the same for the following special trusts:- (a) 30s. to the rector of NORTH LUFFENHAM to preach three sermons on the Mondays after Christmas Day, Easter Day and Whitsunday respectively (b) 30s. for the poor widows and maids of NORTH LUFFENHAM (c) 40s. for flannel for clothing the said poor widows and maids: the land called Fincett Land after the death of said Wellesbourn and Dorothy and the survivor of them to the use of said Samuel Barker and his heirs for ever.
