The King George III Lodge was established in 1759 and met at the Spring Clock, Bench Street and High Street, Gosport, Hampshire. In 1779 the lodge moved from Gosport to Portsmouth, Hampshire, meeting at the Theatre Tavern in the High Street. The lodge remained in Portsmouth until 1819 when it moved to the Anchor and Hope Tavern, St. George's Square, Portsea, Hampshire. The lodge returned to Portsmouth in 1821, meeting at the Three Tuns, at 94 the High Street. In 1828 the lodge moved back to Portsea, meeting at the Wheatsheaf in Ordinance Road and the lodge remained there until it was erased in 1832. The lodge was named the King George III Lodge in 1821.
