Administrative / biographical background (Historical or biographical information about the creator of the record and the context of its creation)

Geologist known particularly for her fieldwork (alongside archaeologist Gertrude Caton-Thompson FRGS) in Egypt in the 1920s and 1930s. Joined the RGS on 10 February 1930 (with Caton-Thompson as her proposer), whilst a lecturer in geology at Bedford College, London. She remained an FRGS until she resigned her Fellowship on 11 December 1939.
