Deposited through Dorking and District Museum, West Street, Dorking, in March 1984.

Administrative / biographical background

After 1933, the Hospital was administered by the newly extended Urban District Council. Damage by enemy action in August 1944 resulted in demolition of the diphtheria block. The scarlet fever block was transferred to the newly formed NHS under the National Health Service Act, 1946, and has since been closed (see 1358/1/31,32, 1358/2/47).
