North America, east coast: Canada, east coast: Newfoundland, east coast
'Chart of the Sea Coast of Newfoundland between Open Bay and Green Island'. Survey shows coastline, hydrography, anchorages, topography, vegetation, land marks, sight lines, remarks (including the survey was taken by order of Hugh Pallisser, Commodore) and explanatory key. Coloured manuscript. North points with compass indicators showing true and magnetic north indicators (orientation to north north west). Scale: 15 inches to 5 miles, 60 to the degree. Surveyed by James Cook and 'Coppy'd (sic) from original Survey taken in 1764'. Annotated in black ink: 'Mounted in 1836'. Endorsed in black ink: 'Newfoundland'
