Eliezer Careswall of Shiffnall gent, Francis Hinde of Ecceshall co Staffs gent and Hugh Tomkis of Grindle co Salop gent, lords of the manor of Grindle in the parish of Royton co Salop; Henry Selmon of Grindle gent, John Slater of Grindle yeoman, Thomas Hazelwood of Grindle yeoman, William Astley of Kymerton co Salop yeoman, Roger Mitton of Ryton, and John Moone of Ryton blacksmith freeholders within the said manor.
Careswall stands seised to him and his heirs of the moiety of 2 messuages, 1 other messuage and certain lands, meadows etc. containing 2 4th parts of the demesne lands belonging to the manor (now Thomas Addams and John Pitt and their assigns); Hinde is seized of the moiety of 2 messuages and lands containing one forth part of the demesne lands of the manor (now Thomas Addams or assigns); Tomkins is seized of certain lands etc. containing one other 4th part of the demesne lands (now Hugh Tomkis or assigns); Selmon, Slater, Hazelwood, Astley, Mitton and Moone are seized to them and their several heirs of certain messuages and lands etc. within the manor in their several occupations; and several exchanges of land have been made between them and their several heirs of certain messuages and lands etc. within the manor in their several occupations; and several exchanges of land have been made between them or some of their ancestors or other persons on their behalf.
To prevent suits and to settle such exchanges for the future, it is agreed between them that the exchanged land which belonged either to lord or lords of the manor or to the freeholders shall be deemed and adjudged to remain to the respective parties to these present in such form as they are now divided without any let or hindrance, and that the parties will at any time on request, at the cost of the one who requires it, make further assurance within 10 miles distance.
