Two 80 horse power side lever boat engines, with 47½ inch cylinders, 4½ foot strokes.Cross-section of the boat and engines, side view of engine, plan of the engine sleepers - reverse drawings made in the London office (also used for Thames); section and plan of boiler - reverse drawing; working gear - original and coloured reverse drawings; headstock columns with brackets - reverse drawing made in the London office; balance weight - partially shaded reverse drawing; sketch of trusses and columns etc.; sketch of side beams for 70 and 80 horse engines by William Creighton; plan and side view of the headstock columns and braces - coloured reverse drawings made in the London office. Some of these drawings bear letter codes.

For the Dublin & London Steam Marine Co. Shannon and Thames were later owned by the P & O Company. The boat is referred to in The Engineer, 1866, p. 465, and in T. Tredgold, The Steam Engine, p. 317. The drawings for Shannon and Thames were kept in the same book, No. 799.
