Folio 360. Letter from Charles Dalton, Headmaster of the Collegiate School, Barnstaple, Devon, to the Local Government Board. He replies to their letter [5746/B/1880] requesting a character reference for Charles William Eastoe, a former junior teacher at the collegiate school for a period of one year. He states that Eastoe's 'general character and conduct were invariable good and that he was diligent and trustworthy in the discharge of his duties'.
Annotated: 'Mr Bowyer, sanction both appointments requesting in both the queries to be forwarded with a report at the end of 6 months', 21 January 1880.
