Letter of Thomas Barnshaw, Worshipful Master, Peter Johnson, Senior Warden, Anthony Wildgoose, Junior Warden, Timothy Jones, Secretary and George Pyatt, Treasurer of Combermere Lodge of Union, No. 295, Macclesfield informing William White, Grand Secretary and other officers of the Moderns' Grand Lodge about the expulsion of William Warrington for abusing another Lodge member at the end of a meeting on 27 December the previous year.

Lodge of Union was granted a warrant by the Moderns' Grand Lodge to meet as No. 526 on 24 June 1793. The Lodge was consecrated on 7 March 1793 and met at The Childers, Goose Lane [now Brunswick Street], Macclesfield, Cheshire. After the union between the Moderns' and Antients' Grand Lodge in 1813 the Lodge met as No. 555. The Lodge was renumbered as No. 372 in 1832. In 1846 the Lodge was renamed as Combermere Lodge of Union. The Lodge was renumbered as No. 295 in 1863. The Lodge met at several inns and taverns in Macclesfield but now meets at the Masonic Hall, Riseley Street, Macclesfield.
