This, the twelfth volume of Additional Manuscripts (Add Mss.) has, in general, been compiled on the lines indicated in the Introduction to the first

Apart from deeds of title which form the major part of this volume, there will also be found copies of correspondence with Silas Neville (Add Mss 8338 and 8725), a plan of Petworth Market House (Add Mss 8727), an exemplification of the arms of Buckner (Add Mss 9147) and records of the Cowfold and Henfield Turnpike roads (Add Mss 9148-9245)

Students are again asked to exercise care in quoting references, and to use the form indicated in the Introduction to the first volume
