Recital of the will of Jane Pritchard and re sale to her and her sisters of the property of Samuel Pritchard
Consideration: £830 13s
The piece of land called the Yew Tree Leasow (6a 36p) adjoining the turnpike road from Shrewsbury to Church Stretton (once Sam Pritchard, then Elizabeth, Jane and Martha Pritchard, then Thomas Andrews, now Edward Bather) in the township of Pulley and Meole, heretofore bought by William Harris, gent, from Thos Berrington Esq. and Wm Berrington Esq his son, and the building now used as a stable lately erected on the piece. This is settled to uses.
Whereas by lease and release of 12 & 13 November 1739 between Wm Berrington, gent and Thomas Berrington his eldest son and heir (1) Ann Bates of Stock, Essex, spinster (2) John Windsor and Joseph Arndell of Shrewsbury, gents (3) Robert Phillips of Cruckmeole, Esq. and Richard Wolley of Shrewsbury, wine merchant (4) being a settlement on the marriage of Thomas Berrington and Ann Bates, the land above, inter alia, was limited to Thos Berrington for life, then to his sons.
Bargain and sale enrolled 21 June 1777 Thomas and Wm Berrington, eldest son of Thos by Ann (1) Wm Harris (2) reciting a recovery suffered and bargain and sale enrolled, declaring its uses, for £3,800 from Wm Harris, the Berringtons conveyed the property to Wm Harris.
Indenture of 2 Feb. 1780 between Wm Berrinton (1) Thomas Berrington, Charles Berrington, Ann Berrington and Philip Berrington, sons and daughter of Thos by Ann decd. (2) Dame Phillippa Fleetwood, widow (3) The Rev. Edward Harries of Cruckton, Clerk, sole executor of Robert Phillips who survived Rd Wolley (4) Sam Pritchard (5) Wm Harris (6)
Edward Harries by direction of Wm Berrington, Wm Harris etc. bargained and sold and assigned to Samuel Pritchard the premises in the bargain and sale enrolled 21 June 1777 to the use of Wm Harris to Samuel Pritchard for the rest of 500 years in trust for Wm Harris to attend the freehold.
Indenture 1 Jan. 1780 between Wm Harris of Shrewsbury (1) Mary Metcalf of Church Stretton, widow (2) in consideration of £1,800, the property, including the piece of land, was mortgaged to Mary Metcalf for 500 years.
Indenture 21 April 1800 Mary Metcalf (1) Joseph Carless and John Beck (2) Sam. Pritchard and Mary his wife (3) Robert Jeffreys (4) John Flavel (5) reciting indenture of 5 Feb. 1799 between Sam Pritchard and Mary (1) Joseph Loxdale, Esq (2) Jos. Carless and Jno Beck (3) covenant to levy a fine on the estate late of Wm Harris and Sam Pritchard, to the use of Carless and Beck on trust to sell. The part in mortgage to Mary Metcalf was sold and the principal repaid to Mary Metcalf, so she reconveyed the said piece, inter alia, to Robert Jeffreys for the rest of 500 years.
Lease and release 7 & 8 Oct. 1808 between Carless and Beck (1) Mary Prithcard, sister of Wm Harris, decd (2) Wm Coupland, trustee of Sam. Pritchard (3) Mary Pritchard, Carless and Beck (4) Elinor Jeffreys, Wm Prissick, Thos Lloyd and Jos. Asterley, executors of Robert Jeffreys (5) John Flavel of Pulley, gent (6) Fras Axon (7) Richard Juson (8) Elizabeth, Jane and Martha Pritchard (9) Richard Drinkwater (10) Wm Harley (11)
Consideration: £2,255 18s 9d
Conveyance to the Pritchards of, inter alia, the piece of land called the Yew Tree Leasow. Assignment to Rd Drinkwater for the rest of 500 years in trust for Elizabeth, Jane and Martha Pritchard.
Recital of the will of Robert Jeffreys 18 Feb. 1801
Assignment to Harley of property in the indenture of 21 April 1800 assigned to Robt Jeffreys for the rest of 500 years in trust for Elizabeth etc.
The terms are now assigned to Pemberton and Hallifax.
