1. William Groves of Shelve, husbandman

2. Robert Bemand of Aldress, Chirbury, malster.

Whereas several rivulets have for several years last past run over several pieces of land of Wm Groves called Horsemoore and the two Aldress Closes belonging to a house of Wm Groves in Priest Weston, Chirbury (Arthur Williams) to a messuage or water corn mill of Robert Bemand called the Aldress in the parish of Chirbury, which water now is and has been of mutual benefit to both parties for improving the lands of William Groves and supplying Robert Bemand with water for his mill and other necessary uses of his family. William Groves has agreed to grant a lease of all his right, interest and benefit in the water and water course to Robert Bemand for 99 years from Michaelmas next, in order that the water may continue and run in the same course during the term.

So lease of his right to it over the said 3 parcels of lands with liberty for Robert Bemand, his servants and workmen at all convenient times and seasons to enter on the lands to scour the watercouse as required, doing as little damage as may be. To hold to Robert Bemand from 29 September instant for 99 years.

Rent p.a. 6d to William Groves.
