Description (What the record is about)
-
Copy. The Palace
The Bishop of Hereford to E. N. Furley.
(Copy in Furley's handwriting).
After studying the map since their interview the Bishop thinks it most reasonable for Furley to be relieved of Asterley and of his pastoral work of the part of the third portion and to be entirely responsible for Longden and Leas Cross. These two churches and schools are within reasonable distance of each other and could both be served by an active incumbent'. If Furley accepts this the Bishop will then have to satisfy Mr. Jenkins 'Probably Mr. Seddon would make no difficulty about keeping a Curate residing at Cruckton so long as he holds first and second portions'.
