Apparatus for working the coining press. Machinery formerly belong to Soho New Mint, Soho Manufactory.
Apparatus for working the coining press - coloured drawing. This drawing bears a letter code.
Also "Plan for cutting out 3 penny pieces, 4 ½ penny pieces, 5 farthings at a time", May 1855 - unclear if this drawing was for Soho.
For James Watt & Co., "Soho Mint", Soho Foundry. When the Soho Mint at the Soho Manufactory, then owned by M. P W. Boulton, was demolished in 1850, James Watt & Co. purchased one of coining presses and set it up at Soho Foundry. This sole press was referred to as "Soho Mint", but it is not clear if it was ever set to work. This press was later incorporated into the new mint established by James Watt & Co. in 1860.
