Administrative / biographical background

Merchants' Lodge, No. 241 was granted a warrant by the Moderns' Grand Lodge to meet as No. 522 on 25 March 1780. In 1780 the lodge met at the Golden Lion, Dale Street, Liverpool but relocated to other taverns and hotels in Liverpool before relocating in 1858 to the Masonic Hall, 22 Hope Street, Liverpool.
