Second son of Isaac Taylor (1730-1807). Engraver, writer for the young, and nonconformist minister. Left London to live in Lavenham in 1786. Minister at Colchester from 1796 and at Ongar (Ess) from 1810. In 1781 married Ann Martin, also author of children's books, by whom he had several children.
