Administrative / biographical background

Red Lion Brewery in Brentford in 18th Century, owned by Felix Booth by 1830 and name changed to Royal Brewery in consequence of visit by William IV and Booth's baronetcy.

Owned by Carrington and Whitehead 1850 - 1875 and Gibbon and Croxford to 1880 (or 1890). Bought by Montague Ballard and became limited liability company 1890.

Controlling interest acquired by Style and Winch in 1922 and they jointly acquired Dartford Brewery Co Ltd 1924. The company ceased to brew.

Acquired by Barclay Perkins and Co Ltd 1929. In voluntary liquidation 1970.
