Description

From: 1) John Thompson of Manchester, Machinist, A Trustee for Mrs Maria Preston 2) Maria Preston wife of 3) Christopher Preston of Manchester, Machine Broker To: 4) Eli Crossley of Longsight, Commission Agent A plot of land in Kirkmanshulme (plan endorsed) containing 1084 square yards, bounded by land belonging to John Wood to the north, the London and North Western Railway to the east, Slade Lane to the west, and the rest of the premises leased in CE 1/Kirk/1/33/1 to the south, and the 2 semi-detatched messuages erected thereon, called 'Vernal Mount' and fronting Slade Lane, one occupied by Mr Bleackley as tenant, and the other in the occupation of Eli Crossley. Consideration: £600 paid to 2) Term: the residue of 99 years set in 1806 (CE 1/Kirk/1/12), less 2 days subject to a rent of £9, 11s 3d per annum . Conditions:1) 2) and 3) covenant to perform any further acts required to prove title, and covenant to observe the conditions set in CE 1/Kirk/1/33/1/1, and indemnify 4) from the effects of any breach. 4) covenants to pay the reserved rent and keep the conditions and indemnifies 1) 2) and 3) against breach, and any distress will be found from his portion of the premises. 1) 2) and 3) will provide access to and extracts of all relevant deeds when required. If a new lease is granted of the premises and the rent exceeds £9, 11s 3d, then the portion not here assigned will pay the additional rent set. None of the parties to erect a wall on the side of the premises here assigned higher than 5ft. Signed and sealed: John Thompson, Christopher Preston and Maria Preston, and Eli Crossley..
