Minutes

The minutes dated before November 1870 are currently missing (see BCC/1/AO/3/1/1), after which there is a substantial gap between November 1880 and December 1925, and again nothing after November 1929. Minutes BCC/1/AO/3/1/2 are in the volume entitled 'Public Works Department Subfinance Committee Minute Book'. Minutes BCC/1/AO/3/1/3 - 4 appear to be copies, and are in volumes entitled 'Finance and Stores Sub-Committee'. For any further information on this sub-committee, please refer to the main committee minute volumes. The minutes include detailed accounts and statements of income and expenditure for various public works projects, land hire and purchase (including compensation paid to property owners and business people), departmental equipment and other resources, and staffing. There are also inventories, order sheets and other information relating to departmental stores, and details on departmental staff, including information on wages, pensions, staff welfare and accidents suffered by Corporation workmen during their employment.
