- communications from Ministry of Home Security regarding: Air Raid Precautions practice incendiary bombs; French nationals in Civil Defence services; delegation of powers to Regional Commissioners - provision of air raid shelters;

- communications from Senior Regional Officer regarding: establishment of identity of officials; mobilisation of volunteers on red warnings; verification of messages; Local Defence Volunteer Force; appeal for recruits; cleansing facilities for members of Observer Corps; parachute descents by RAF personnel; County Air Raid Precautions Depot and Store, Cardington Road, Bedford; East Bedfordshire Area Air Raid Precautions Officer; gas chamber at Langford Road, Biggleswade; Bedford Borough air raid warning sirens; Civil Defence personnel and Observer Corps; protection of persons living near aerodromes; compulsory National Service; Bedford Borough First Aid Party organisation;
