This memo covers the failure of the company to deliver the Sa.5 to English Electric for the P.1 by April 1953 and by September 1953 at the latest. Failure to deliver was caused by compressor stator blade failure. Page 2: English Electric have cancelled orders for the 3rd, 4th and 5th Sa.5 engines. The new specification for a Mach.2 fighter requires more powerful units and they are fitting a variant of the Rolls-Royce RA-14
