Description (What the record is about)
-
The information contained in the first of these books differs from the others but they do all seem to be related. The first volume gives a sequential number for each patient, their name, details of the medicine issued (quantity, type and instructions on use) and a date. Some entries include addresses and recipes.
The other volumes are larger in format and include a date, patient's name, often a brief address, details of the medicine issued (quantity and type) and details of fees/costs.
Other records giving details of prescriptions are the fee books [see MH/T4/Ff].
