Samuel Hennell refers to one of his earlier letters, no. 92, which transmitted a copy of Hennell's letter to His Excellency Lieutenant-Colonel Justin Sheil CB, dated 3 September 1850, regarding Hennell's interview with the Acting Governor of Bushire and a deputation of merchants, on the subject of the removal of Sheik Nasir from his position as Governor of Bushire. Hennell forwards a transcript of Sheil's reply, dated 8 October 1850, which expresses his approval of Hennell's proceedings. Sheil's reply is not included here, but it does appear earlier in the file (see ff.181-185).
