Sun & planet engine, with 24 inch cylinder, 6 foot stroke. No motion shown. Engine not built.Includes original and reverse general view, ground plans, front view showing connection to tilt hammer. All these drawings were found pinned together.
Catalogue of Old Engines p. 20.
For Thomas Allingham, Rotherhithe. Forge engine, Union Foundry, Rotherhithe [?]. These drawings were made in response to enquiries made by Allingham in Aug. and Sep. 1784. However Allingham's letter to Watt of 22 Nov. 1784 and Watt's reply of 25 Nov. make it clear that he did not proceed with this engine.
