INTRODUCTION

This, the fourteenth volume of Additional Manuscripts (Add Mss), has, in general, been compiled along the lines indicated in the introduction to the first volume

Deeds of title once again form the major part of this volume, but also to be found are Records of the Loyal South Down Lodge of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows at Sutton, 1897 - 1926 (Add Mss 10,897-10,900); a treaty concerning the Charlton Hunt, 1729 (Add Mss 10,913); papers relating to Alfred Kent's glazing patent, 1852, 1853 (Add Mss 10,977-10,980); Both Ways from Corfu: Reminiscences 1887 - 1919, by W.D. Peckham (Add Mss 10,981); correspondence between members of the Curwen family and G.P. Burstow, 1932 - 1967, (Add Mss 11,069); documents from the Weights and Measures Administration of Quarter Sessions, and of the West Sussex County Council, 1834 - 1954, (Add Mss 11,070-11,079); and papers relating to the Dame Henrietta Burrell Charity, 1880 - 1959, (Add Mss 11,174-11,181)

No index has been provided to this volume as all the relevant details of this, and all previous volumes, have been included in the card indexes of persons, places and subjects which are in the search room of the County Record Office
