Folios 451-453. Letter from Charles Wright, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board, regarding a copy of a letter to the Board sent by John Butcher, a pauper, and submitted to the Guardians for their observations. Wright states that John Butcher had been an inmate of the Union Workhouse on several occasions when his behaviour had been difficult and disruptive. He had also spent some time in prison. Wright also answers the charges Butcher had made against Mr Reynolds [Philip John Reynolds], Master of the Workhouse. The guardians consider Butcher to have been the cause of much trouble and annoyance to them and to the master and matron.
