Description

Collection of loose snapshots (small contact prints), from an unidentified source. The collection breaks down into the following categories:. Prints 1-14 Views in Kulu: men crossing a river with mussocks, portraits of Ladakhi and Tibetan types. Prints 15-26 Views at Palitana and Junagadh: mainly architectural studies of Jain temples at Palitana. Prints 27-32 Views at Jaisalmer: the fort and step-well. Prints 33-36 Views of Darjeeling and the Himalayas. These last prints are in a larger format (140x240mm) and may well have come from a different source. Also included with the collection is an issue of a wartime newspaper, printed in Tibetan at Kalimpong.
