11 July Shown round the school house (by Mr. Phillips), which has been much altered and improved

16 July Demonstration took place in Gloucester against the disendowment and disestablishment of the Church of Wales

7 Aug. Visited Malvern - description of the Priory

7 Sept. Attended Opening Service of the Three Choirs Festival at Gloucester Cathedral

10 Sept. Drainage scheme in course of construction "across Mr. Harris's field towards the Grotto" [in Churchdown]

A collection is in progress for a wedding present to be given to Dr. Foster. The author contributes 2s/6d.

13 Sept. Gas is being conducted from Gloucester to Churchdown - pipes being laid along the Gloucester Road

15 Sept. Presentation at the school of the wedding present to Dr. Foster, comprising a silver coffee pot and 2 mustard pots and spoons

30 Sept. Sewage pipes are being laid "along our Lane"

3 Nov. Reference to Mr. Balfour of Staunton Court, brother of the former Prime Minister
