'No.5'. 'Continuation of the Do de chotpa festival.'. '1. Chechogheruka' [che-mchog-he-ru-ka]. 'All the other deotas form a square and this one remains in the centre: he is styled Konchok' [dkon-mchog],' or the Deity in anger.'. '2. A Lama with a human skull full of spirits or liquor.'. '3. A zemindar boiling some oil: the deity advances, takes the skull full of spirit and pours it upon the boiling oil, when it flames up and burns the evil spirit (Bihri) who is represented on paper and drawn with five different kinds of blood.'. '4. It is called Lingha: it is drawn with first the blood of a man who has been murdered: 2nd with blood of a leper; 3rd by the blood of a menstruous woman; 4th with the blood of black pig; 5th with the blood of a black horse. The names of the enemy to be destroyed must be written on the paper or enemies of Shakya who destroy his books &'c. 'This is only the custom of Lopsun Rinpochi of which Heruka is the principal divinity and the Shakyas acknowledge Jumpul Shinjeshét called in Sanskrit Jumnu Taka or Manju Shri the God of wisdom.'. 'The ornament worn on the breast of all these Devis and Deotas is called Melong and Panglong (Pang the breast) (Long, looking glass or reflection), the late is the more proper name. The Deota no.1 has in his hand a pendah or imitation in silver of a human skull.'.
