Nowadays the printing of service sheets, newsletters, service lists etc. is carried out in-house by the secretaries in the Cathedral Offices using word processors and the photocopier. Special service programmes are still sometimes produced by outside printing companies such as the 'Queen's Press' in Manchester. Before around 1970, most printed material was produced by local printers in and around Manchester, such as 'The Pilgrim Press, Sale, Cheshire', 'Hutton, Hartley & Co, 62 Victoria Street, Manchester', 'John Taylor, The Queen's Press, Manchester 15', 'C Nicholls & Company Ltd. at the Philips Park Press', and 'Thomas Sowler & Sons, St Ann's Square, Manchester'. Most frequently printing was carried out by 'Charles Sever, Printer, &c, 40 King Street West, Manchester 3.' Often Service Sheets etc. would also be created further afield when the same service was to be held in churches nationwide, eg services by order of the Monarch, published by the Oxford and Cambridge Uinversity Presses or Eyre and Spottiswoode, London.
